The round neckline is encircled by a bias and then a flounce hemmed in red picot stitch as a collar. The full-height button placket with natural mother-of-pearl buttons is concealed beneath two overlapping red picot-stitch ruffles. The gathers of the skirt, attached to the bodice at the waist, then the wide tier at the bottom, give the dress a lovely fullness.
